My Soulmate, Our Marriage, In Christ

Sep 9, 2012

Being married to my best friend and the love of my life is the greatest gift that the Lord has blessed me with aside from my salvation and God's love...

My husband and I have a healthy God centered relationship and we truly desire what is best for each other. He strives to love me as Christ loves the church && I strive to be noble and respectful to him. We have been married now for three and a half years and with each month our relationship gets better and better. THE ONLY reason for this, though, is God's grace in our lives and our pursuit to put Christ first in our marriage above all else. When we are focused on our relationship with Him... everything else falls into place. It takes work and time and energy.... the grass is not greener on the other side, it is greener where you water it and take care of it. Our marriage needs to be taken care of and needs to have time and life poured into it. This is why my husband and I read marriage books together, read and talk about the bible together, and we hold annual marriage conferences at our house with several couples to grow our marriage.

"The law of the LORD is perfect, reviving the soul..." Psalm 19:7

We need to saturate ourselves with what we want to become. If we desire to have a healthy lifelong marriage we need to saturate our marriage with Christ centered things. Surround yourself with other Godly married couples who build each other up. Read the books that will strengthen your marriages and focus on God's word and PRAY PRAY PRAY..... you must pray four your spouse but also pray for you own heart. Pray that the Lord would change your heart in the areas that it needs to be changed and give it desires that are Godly... we must be willing to see our flaws and change some things, like our attitudes, and thought patterns...our work ethic, and words, or what we spend our time on. I can honestly say that mine and Mikey's marriage has grown incredibly since we met, but only because of the time and prayer and learning from God's word that we put into it and by His mercy and grace. I believe that the Lord had a plan for me. I believe with all my heart that Mikey and I were meant to be married and that the Lord gave us to each other IN HIS PERFECT TIMING.... I adore him, love him, honor him, and I pray that the Lord continues to strengthen our marriage on a daily basis! I can't thank God enough for bringing this man into my life and for using each of us as the perfect tools in each others sanctification. God's desing for marriage is such a beautiful thing..... to show the brideship of Him and His church!!!

"Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and hold fast to his wife, and the two shall become one flesh." This mystery is profound, and I am saying that it refers to Christ and the church. (Ephesians 5:31, 32 ESV)
